At Appt Health, our goal is to engage patients in the way that suits them best.

Our new NHS App integration extends this offering by providing a free, secure, and convenient way to reach patients before following up via SMS.

In the NHS Email Link round a booking invitation is delivered to the patient's email. Patients use the link provided to book their appointment in the NHS App.

The guide below illustrates how the patient invitation and booking process works.

Email Invitation

Patients will receive an invitation to book an appointment by email.

The contents of invitation message can be tailored to your practice's needs. The invitation message always includes

  • Patient name
  • Practice name
  • The target name e.g. Childhood Immunisation
  • The booking link

Booking the appointment

To book the appointment a patient will

  1. Verify their identity
  2. Select an appointment time from the available slots. These are slots that have been configured by your practice during your target setup.
  3. Book the appointment
  4. View booking confirmation

Default Settings

Appt Health NHS Email Link rounds include the following default settings:

  • NHS App Link invitation delivery time: 8am - 6pm, 7 days /week
  • Booking window: slots that are available 3-31 days away from the date of invitation
  • Invitation expiry: After 7 days the link will cease to allow patient booking

Booking Confirmation

For the NHS App Email round, a separate booking confirmation message will not be sent. Patients can view their booking details at any time through the NHS App.
